The Pottermore site updates page posted that starting on this Saturday, December 3 at 8:30 am (GMT) the site will be offline. They stated that the site would be offline for at least a week (Dec. 10) to do maintenance work behind-the-scenes. The post didn’t really specify what they were specifically going to do, though it’s not the first time we have seen this message before. Much of the work will be technical, so there will not be obvious changes, but they are asking that users come back to the site once it is back online.
As it is another boring Tuesday, we thought we would lighten it up by giving an update about - you guessed it - US!
First off, we have a new poll up! It’s our first-ever, so we wanted to start with a fun question (fun as in we need an answer): When will Pottermore open? You can answer the poll with one of our four answers here. We are anxious to see the feedback!
Secondly, we wanted to give an update about our Facebook page. Starting today, we are changing how we use our Facebook page and Tumblr. Our Facebook page will be the exclusive place to read news stories on Pottermore not published on our site. Some of the stories have the same idea as others, so we thought it wouldn’t be useful to post something of the same gist. We will only be posting these stories on our Facebook page, no other place but there.
We are answering your Pottermore questions this week on Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook! Do you have a question about Pottermore that you would like to ask? Well, ask us, because we may just have the answer! If you have problems with your Pottermore account or questions about registration, ask us! If you are having trouble coping with the end of Harry Potter…. we’re not the right people for that.. try harrypottersupportgroup.com.

Post to our Facebook wall anything you want us to answer

In a post on the Pottermore Insider, Pottermore is now back online after a three day maintenance window.
The updates we’ve made over the past few days have mainly involved replacing hardware, so while you won’t see any obvious changes on the site itself, there has been a lot of work undertaken to help make the site run more smoothly.
Also in the post, it was explained that the Pottermore beta survey will be taken down on November 7, 2011. If you haven’t completed it yet, you can here.
