From an early edition of ‘Philosopher’s Stone’ to be auctioned:
J.K. Rowling suggests that Hufflepuff might have been more popular with the fans if the mascot had been a bear (the original plan was to have it be a bear, as shown above).
In an exclusive interview with Pottermore News, Pottermore CEO Charlie Redmayne offers fans an insight into the future of Pottermore and more.
Charlie has been CEO of Pottermore since November 2011 and has been responsible for the transition of Pottermore from beta to launch. Redmayne oversaw the launch of Pottermore.com in April 2012, and the launch of the groundbreaking Pottermore Shop in March 2012.
Our friends at The Harry Potter Journey are about to take their site to new heights and launch an e-book version of their site. But first, they need your help.
As you can imagine, editing and releasing a book isn’t cheap, even if it is an e-book. They have to pay for editors, artists, and other people who are crucial in the making of any book.
To raise the money for the e-book, they have launched a crowd funding campaign. If you would like to donate, click here.
If they raise enough money for this one, there will be more, presumably a volume for each Harry Potter book.
About The Harry Potter Journey:
The Harry Potter Journey is a non-profit website that has been in development since 2009, though it has changed and grown over the years. The idea began as solely a timeline of the Harry Potter books, how they were created and how they affected J.K. Rowling’s life. It grew to be a website that shares the complete history behind the Harry Potter books, editions and collector’s items, and more.
About The Harry Potter Journey E-Book (via HPJ):
During the last months we have been working on The Harry Potter Journey, Volume 1, which will be the first ebook ever covering the making of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It will be an extended and revised version of the website, including new and never heard or seen information too. If all goes well, the tentative release date for the e-book is June 30, 2013, 16 years after the first Harry Potter book was published.
J.K. Rowling’s agent has revealed on Twitter that casting for The Casual Vacancy miniseries will begin in ‘late spring’ 2013…
